Bodega Pierce releases wines made exclusively from grapes grown at the Pierce family’s estate vineyard in Willcox, AZ. The wines are designed to express the high desert terroir of the Willcox Bench, providing a consistent product that over-delivers on quality. Its Sauvignon Blanc recently took first place at the 2017 AZCentral Arizona Wine Competition.
Saeculum Cellars is a small-batch wine project led by Michael Pierce, head winemaker at Bodega Pierce and director of enology at Yavapai College’s Southwest Wine Center in Clarkdale.
Michael says: “Slowly, the winemaking industry is making its way into Arizona. Higher education here in the Verde Valley is helping to bring instructional resources and greater interest in the last few years. I believe this is where we will see the next generation of winemakers in Arizona.”
